About Tristan Hodgson – Slope Safety Expert
Tristan Hodgson is a renowned slope safety expert who has dedicated his life to protecting people from the dangers of avalanches and other natural disasters. Born in the small mountain town of Breckenridge, Colorado, Tristan was raised with a deep respect for nature and its power. From an early age, he was fascinated by the snow-capped peaks that surrounded him and dreamed of one day becoming an avalanche expert.
After graduating high school, Tristan attended Colorado State University where he earned a degree in geology and meteorology. He then went on to pursue a master’s degree in avalanche science at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. During his studies, Tristan developed a passion for understanding how snow behaves in different conditions and how it can be managed to prevent avalanches.
Upon completing his studies, Tristan began working as an avalanche forecaster for the U.S Forest Service in Colorado. In this role, he monitored weather patterns and snowpack conditions to predict when avalanches were likely to occur so that ski resorts could take appropriate precautions. After several years in this position, Tristan decided to start his own business offering consulting services on slope safety issues to ski resorts around the world.
